On their new album, Locked In Time, Restraining Order is gazing towards the future. Originally formed in January 2017 after the band members made it their New Year's resolution to start a hardcore-punk band, things have been looking ahead for the Connecticut/Western Massachusetts six-piece ever since. After breaking out with a demo that same year, followed by a self-titled EP in 2018, Restraining Order hit their stride with 2019’s This World Is Too Much. Four years later, the band are taking the energy and style that made that debut album an instant classic and bringing in a present-day approach with Locked In Time.

From the opening notes of the record a familiar sound appears as This World Is Too Much album closer “Addicted” plays in reverse in the aptly titled “Addicted (Reprise)”, connecting the cinematic universe Restraining Order has built across both records. As Patrick Cozens shouts “They don’t know what this means, this life it chose me,” it sets the tone that this music isn’t a fad, these lyrics aren’t made up stories, these twelve songs are a documentation of the band members' daily lives.

Expanding on the albums lyrical themes, Cozens’ states:

“Going into this record I decided to take a more present-day approach. It felt like the last record let me get a lot of things off my mind. I feel the band itself has helped me move forward in life and gain confidence in who I am. A lot of the lyrics on this record revolve around what I’ve been thinking about currently in life. The feeling of moving on from the past and looking towards the future. The anxieties of day-to-day life. Realizing what I must do to make myself happy. I wanted to take on the hardships of present-day life but also celebrate it. A lot of things will bring you down in this world, but you can always create your own world and see things the way you want to see them.”

The writing and recording process for Locked In Time was expansive, beginning in fall 2019 and completed in late 2022. With drummer Will Hirst at the helm of recording and production, it allowed the band to focus on the nuances and build upon a diverse sonic palette. At the surface, Locked in Time is very much a hardcore record, but it also dabbles with garage, psychedelia and other classic rock influences. Melody and hooks lay alongside the speed and chaos. Ambitious song structures are highlighted by seamless transitions. It’s a record meant just as much to connect with as it is for dancing in the pit, which makes sense for a band on tour nearly nonstop. The songs sway between moments of self awareness like on single “Misled” and just having a good time, as with the punchy “On The Run.” “Painted World” ends the record with the band’s longest track yet, harkening in on those more off the cusp influences and putting forth Restraining Order’s full vision.

And in reflection of those final notes, Cozens’ emphasizes:

“I know that I can see the world the way I want to see it. I can make it mine. I can control my life and where I want to be. At first this world was too much but now I’ve learned to create my own.”

Today, Triple B Records welcomes Long Island melodic hardcore band Private Mind to its roster and announces the bands forthcoming album, The Truth You See, set for release on October 13th. The record features four new songs as well as four tracks from the band’s 2020 self-titled debut. Dark and moody lyrics meet a volatile energy that finds the roots of the quintessential Long Island sound blended with a more post-hardcore approach. Single “In Vain,” out now, rolls from crushing screams to melody-fueled vocals with the instrumentation of the track just as dynamic. The lyrics focus on being involved in your community sans toxicity.

Drummer Sal Manaro expands:
“‘In Vain’ is about leading by example. There’s an abundance of judgment from the sidelines without any action. Putting people on a pedestal and worshiping them for the wrong reasons.”

Much of The Truth You See deals with the frustrations of personal and interpersonal life, from conflicting values to communication. The music mimics these ups and downs through layered guitars and fast-beating drums, creating an immersive listening experience. The record walks the line between nostalgia and refreshing, never straying from a confident, high-energy. Private Mind has already shared the stage with Long Island predecessors like Silent Majority and Incendiary, and has shows alongside The Backup Plan, Stretch Armstrong, and This Is Hell this fall - dates below.

The Truth You See was recorded, produced, and mixed by Greg Thomas of Silver Bullet Studios in Burlington, CT and mastered by Bill Henderson of Azimuth Mastering. The record is available for preorder now through Triple B Records.

It’s often typical in hardcore for a band to rep where they’re from, but Never Ending Game are Detroit. From lyrics to influences to imagery, the band owe everything to the city they call home. On their upcoming album Outrcry, out this spring on Triple B Records, the band has created a sonic blast to soundtrack those cold Detroit mornings, exuding a feeling of hopelessness and optimism at the same time.

“Detroit is everything to the band. I wouldn’t write the way I do if we came up anywhere else”, states vocalist Mikey Petroski. “From the influence of how to structure a song growing up hearing Motown, the emotion of a Bob Seger song on a summer's night on the radio, and the value of honest hard work. There’s decades of influence from all that’s come before us out of Detroit in our band's DNA. We have bands like Negative Approach and Cold As Life from here that paved the way for someone to even want to pay attention to a hardcore band coming out of Detroit. There’s a sense of pride that people from Detroit carry that’s unlike most other places. We try to wave that flag as much as possible and pay it all forward.”

Looking past the sentiments that shape the record, the songs find Never Ending Game taking their sound to the next level. Having broken out in 2018 with the release of their EP, Welcome To The…, it was the 2019 full-length Just Another Day that really cemented the band into a force to be reckoned with in the hardcore scene. Stemming from there and 2021’s Halo & Wings EP, Outcry comes across as absolutely immense. Fusing hardcore with more traditional metal elements, there’s big intros, catchy choruses, striking guitar solos, and still plenty of breakdowns.

The band knows they’ve created something special, leading the release with two singles - “Memories” and “Never Die.” “Memories” pulsates from the start as Petroski’s gruff vocals add to the sense of reflection offered in the lyrics, while “Never Die” compels to be a pit favorite and features Trapped Under Ice’s Justice Tripp providing guest vocals and guitars composed by Sam Trapkin, recorded by the band. Furthering into the record, the hook-driven “Tank On E” lingers in your head and closer “Something Wrong” gives a furious and melodic send-off.

With Outrcry, Never Ending Game have created a memorable album that pays tribute to where they are from and pushes old school hardcore through a modern lens.

Members of Fucked Up and Power Trip have coalesced to create the throbbing musical beast that is Masterpiece Machine. Rotting Fruit b/w Letting You In On A Secret is their debut 12” single. In this chaotic world, industrial influenced music seems more relevant than ever as it channels the unstoppable wheels of a mutating mass of electronic and biological matter lurching towards an unknown destination.

Singer Riley’s love of comics led to a collaboration with celebrated comic artist and animator Lale Westvind, known for critically acclaimed works such as Grip, Hot Dog Beach and Hyperspeed to Nowhere. Lale’s art for Rotting Fruit/Letting You In On A Secret perfectly captures the aforementioned musical qualities as technological chimeras made up of biological matter cruise a desert landscape seemingly without purpose, while simultaneously racing towards the future head on.

Fuming Mouth arrive with their debut full length album, The Grand Descent, recorded at GRAMMY®-award winning Godcity Studio (Every Time I Die, Nails, High on Fire) by Kurt Ballou (Converge). The Grand Descent takes on a 90’s Earache Records sound with a modern approach. The album delivers massive walls of guitar and earth crushing drums created by Mark Whelan and Cayle Sain respectively, while briefly touching upon moments of melody and clean singing.
