Touché Amoré has been burrowing through angst, alienation, cancer, and heartbreak throughout four adored studio albums. After over a decade of working through darkness, the band’s gorgeously gruff fifth album, Lament, finds the light at the end of the tunnel. Through 11 songs, Touché Amoré looks back at its past and uses hard-won optimism to point its fans toward light, and love.

Last year, the Los Angeles quintet re-recorded its 2009 debut, ...To the Beat of a Dead Horse, to celebrate the decade gone by. It was a straightforward reflection of a time when the band’s songs rarely surpassed the two-minute mark and hooks were accidental if existent. A striking contrast to the band in 2020, as their evolution with every step in their oeuvre has lead to this moment. Lament is their masterstroke. Its longer, structured songs soar with a ferocious but delicate musicality and powerful, gut-wrenching storytelling that smashes previous heights. Yet as much as the band has grown and matured via everything they’ve endured, it’s perhaps equally impressive how they’ve managed to stay true to their core…

Track Listing:

1. Come Heroine
2. Lament
3. Feign
4. Reminders
5. Limelight
6. Exit Row
7. Savoring
8. A Broadcast

Touche Amore announce their first new album in four years, "Spiral In A Straight Line." Returning to work with famed producer Ross Robinson for the second time following their critically acclaimed, 2020 album "Lament," which was awarded Best New Album by Pitchfork, "Spiral In A Straight Line" challenges the band to dig deep again. As a result, they return with a poignant body of work that captures a distinctly universal phenomenon - spiraling - and getting caught in the emotional debris of the words, emotions, memories, and pain that are left after things are flipped upside down.

Track Listing:

1. Nobody's
2. Disasters
3. Hal Ashby
4. Force Of Habit
5. Mezzanine
6. Altitude
7. This Routine
8. Finalist
9. Subversion (Brand New Love)

2024 will be the year that sees Trail of Lies at its most aggressive and erudite. Only the Strong, the title of their forthcoming sophomore full- length record, as well as their revitalized mantra, will see the band occupy a space all their own. A prioritization of feeling over technicality, the band's newest LP serves as a reminder and a lesson to all, as to just who they have always been as a musical tribe.

The hardcore quintet, forged in Syracuse, New York, has doubled down on its mission to write music that speaks to the primal rage, disgust, and disillusion, we all feel today. Trail of Lies has always, but even more so on this newest creative offering, tapped into the twisted ideals and behaviors that serve as the perverse benchmark for our modern world: obsession with fast and gluttonous consumerism, erosion of human empathy, and a widespread cultural embrace of conflict avoidance. The guttural cries of "only the strong survive" from vocalist Tom Damiano in the title track, is not a celebration of physical domination over the weak, but a reimagining of what it means to really be strong. Only the Strong, is a record that will sonically challenge and remind listeners both new and old that, "the pain you feel today will be the strength that you feel tomorrow."

An invitation to reconnect and redefine the word strength, Trail of Lies intends to spread Only the Strong's mission, message, and mantra around the world in 2024 and beyond. "Will you fight or will you fall?"

Track Listing:

1. 315
2. Stand Hard

Truck Violence's second full length record, The weathervane is my body, is an attempt to answer, an attempt at conciliation through refusal.

Karsyn Henderson and Paul Lecours grew up in a French Canadian town of 600 people, graduating in a class of nine. By fifteen they were running a local studio and radio station. There was no industry support, no infrastructure, no template for what they were trying to do, only the work itself and the conviction that it was worth doing.

At seventeen they relocated to Montreal, joined by Chris Clegg and Thomas Hart, assembled from different corners of the country, and began building Truck Violence from the ground up. The weathervane is my body, the band's second full-length record and first with San Francisco's The Flenser, is the product of that process. Every element reflects this. The group composition, the recording, the mixing and the visual media were all produced in house without outside intervention. DIY here is not an aesthetic choice or a marketing angle, it is the only honest option available.

The album cover was shot on film by the band on Avenue du Parc in Montreal. A figure perches atop a small Quebecois-style house, handbuilt from reclaimed materials, spine curved, legs pulled in, bare-backed against a skyline that dwarfs everything beneath it. A rural thing dropped into the grit of the city, small and out of place and refusing to disappear. The body is naked and defenseless, open to every stimulus the world cares to deliver. This is the album in a single image.

The weathervane is my body is a continuation, an expansion, a further scribbling together of that angry statement of purpose that is their debut album, aptly titled Violence. Rooted in the noise rock and post-hardcore traditions, and steeped in a DIY ethic that runs deep in Canadian underground culture, the record is uncompromising in its refusal to be anything other than what it is: immediate, self-determined, and built entirely by the hands that imagined it.

Virginia Beach’s Turnover has never been a band afraid of telling the truth. The emotional honesty poured out over a number of anthemic releases has been a proven formula of success for the band, but on their sophomore LP Peripheral Vision, the band treads into deeper water. Working again with Magnolia producer Will Yip (Title Fight, Circa Survive), Turnover’s latest record shows a band maturing to create their best effort: an ethereal, reverb-drenched soundscape blending elements of hazy dream pop and the delicate emo rock of yesteryear. Songs like “Hello Euphoria” and “Like Slow Disappearing” highlight the new calmer, more subdued approach to songwriting, matched by Austin Getz’s somber, confessional lyrics that echo throughout songs as if his words were haunting every measure. Peripheral Vision solidifies the idea that Turnover is a band with its finger on the pulse of its generation: growing and learning with every release, but never failing to provide a relatable, cathartic experience for anyone listening.

Track Listing:

1. Cutting My Fingers Off
2. New Scream
3. Humming
4. Hello Euphoria
5. Dizzy On The Comedown
6. Diazepam
7. Like Slow Disappearing
8. Take My Head

Uboa’s fifth album Impossible Light almost never made it out of the dark. From its initial conception in 2018, this record went to hell and back, dragging its immensity and too-big-to-hold emotion through the torturous process of translation to sound and returned triumphantly as a full-bodied record in a distinct new style.

Impossible Light begins where Uboa's 2019 breakout album The Origin of My Depression left off — and ends somewhere entirely different. The Origin stunned with its methodical use of doom, harsh noise, ambient soundscapes while documenting a raw, unhindered account of Xandra Metcalfe’s experiences with her transition and her struggles with mental health. Over time The Origin steadily grew a cult-like following which developed into a full-fledged internet community focused around noise, neurodiversity and transness. While Uboa’s signature style of highly polished, cinematic ‘hypernoise' is front and center in Impossible Light, there is also a daring departure into the genres of industrial metal/rock, setting it apart from any other Uboa release thus far and distinguishing it from other contemporary noise records.

Metcalfe kept the lyrical content of this record as a time capsule of the catastrophic ups and downs and rapidly changing environments within herself and in the world from 2018-2023. Key collaborators include Blood of a Pomegranate, Otay:onii, Charlie Looker and Haela Hunt-Hendrix of Liturgy. Impossible Light dives fearlessly into queer sexuality, trans embodiment, grief for those who couldn't make it, solidarity for those facing unimaginable discrimination, the toxic spread of transphobic hatred and misinformation, and the ultimate hope of recovery from trauma and mental anguish. This is a record about the light at the end of the tunnel and the power it takes to keep moving towards it.
